Vulcan Centaur's maiden flight launched Peregrine on a direct lunar trajectory. A propellant-tank rupture shortly after spacecraft separation prevented orbit-insertion attitude control; Astrobotic returned Peregrine to Earth for a controlled atmospheric reentry over the South Pacific, ten days after launch.
