Falcon 9 rideshare launch, then an extended low-energy lunar transfer via multiple Earth-orbit phasing maneuvers over 47 days. Beresheet entered lunar orbit successfully, but during powered descent its IMU failed and a chain of recovery attempts ended with the main engine briefly shutting down. The lander impacted Mare Serenitatis on 11 April 2019, just minutes from touchdown, the first privately-funded lunar landing attempt.
