Surveyor 3

-3.010° -23.420° · Oceanus Procellarum

Later visited by Apollo 12. Pieces returned to Earth.

Trajectory

Direct ascent and retro-rocket landing, but the vernier engines failed to cut off at touchdown, lifting Surveyor 3 off the surface twice before settling. Eventually came to rest in a small crater in Oceanus Procellarum; Apollo 12 later landed 183 m away and returned pieces of Surveyor 3 to Earth.
