Apollo 14

-3.650° -17.470° · Fra Mauro

Shepard and Mitchell. Modular Equipment Transporter, first lunar golf.

Trajectory

Hybrid trajectory and the first deliberate non-free-return commit after TLI, allowing Apollo 14 to reach the Fra Mauro highlands originally targeted (and missed) by Apollo 13. Shepard and Mitchell brought the lunar module Antares to a precision landing despite a balky docking latch en route and a computer abort signal during descent.
