Four-spacecraft architecture: orbiter, lander, ascender, and Earth-return capsule. After surface sampling at Mons Rümker, the ascender launched, performed an automated lunar orbit rendezvous (LOR) with the orbiter, the first robotic LOR since Luna 24 in 1976, and returned 1.731 kg of samples to Inner Mongolia.
